Ron Bauer, Lay Director

I lived my Cursillo weekend in 2009 and it was life changing in my faith journey.  I thought I was a good Catholic husband and dad, led Engaged Encounter weekends with Kathy, coached Upwards basketball, and was even on the Parish Pastoral Council. It was on Cursillo that I had my first intimate encounter with Christ, and it became clear to me my life purpose.

I have been honored to serve on more than 10 teams and was Rector in 2023.  I love music, and love to play with other Cursillo musicians.  It was Jim MacEgan that lit the music fire for me after my weekend.  I had taken a 10-year break playing music before my Cursillo weekend.
I am honored to be your Lay Director from 2026 through 2028.  My door is always open for concerns and recommendations.  We are building on a strong foundation bringing others to Christ.

 Cheryl Crummey, Pre-Cursillo Chair

I lived my Cursillo in the Fall of 2021. My Cursillo experience was both completely holy and overwhelming and since then, I have had the privilege of serving on two weekends, presenting Rollo’s at both. It has been an honor to be a part of bringing others to Christ.

I am a parishioner at Saint Mary in East Sacramento and volunteer as an assistant teacher for the Kindergarten and First Grade CFF classroom. While a parishioner at Saint Mel in Fair Oaks I served on the vocations committee, was a notetaker for the Synod, served for a time on the Eucharistic Revival team, and a teacher in the Third Grade CFF classroom.

I have three daughters and a son, all of whom went to Catholic grade school, and four granddaughters. One of my happiest pastimes is working in my garden. Whether I am tending to flowers or fruits and veggies, I find so much peace and feel closest to God in the time I am in my garden.

I look forward to serving on the Secretariat as the Pre-Cursillo Chair.

De Dolores!

June Landry, PostCursillo

Ron Bauer, Lay Director

The Chairperson of the Postcursillo insures that every Cursillista within the diocesan movement has the opportunity to grow in their Fourth Day. This is accomplished by insuring a link between the School of Leaders and the Ultreya. The Chairperson insures that the Ultreyas maintain their essence, their living and sharing of the love of God and of neighbors in the environment. The Chair is also responsible for determining and scheduling necessary diocesan, regional and national workshops.

Jesse Hoskins School of Leaders Coordinator

I lived my Cursillo weekend in 2021, where I found a deeper relationship with God and a wonderful community of faithful Catholics. Through the Cursillo ministry God has brought countless amazing men and women into my life through my fourth day group, the ultreya reunions, and serving on two Men’s Cursillo weekend teams. Seeing the work of the Holy Spirit in forging bonds between Cursillistas and lighting hearts on fire has inspired me to serve the Cursillo community as the School of Leaders Coordinator.
My wife and fellow Cursillistas, Alyssa, were married more than four years ago at our Parish in Fair Oaks, St. Mel Parish. I received my sacraments and joined the church in 2020, and after living my Cursillo weekend became a catechist and assistant to the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA). I am a member of my Parish Knights of Colombus Council, and a member of the Exodus-90 fraternity at Good Shepherd Parish.
I am grateful to the Lord and the Cursillo Community for allowing me to serve on the Secretariat. Cursillo is a wonderful ministry and blessing to both the Sacramento Diocese and faithful Catholics across the Sacramento region. I am humbled by the great Cursillistas and the grace that God has bestowed through the transformative works of our Cursillo ministry.
